Geka recruits cosmetic product formulations expert

Geka, the German manufacturer of premium cosmetic brushes, applicators and packaging, has recently appointed Dr. Christina Zech as Head of Sales Rest of World. She will work on coordination with Jerry Sapienza, President of Geka USA Corporation for the American market, and Thomas Sirot, Directeur Général for the French market, and will report to Franco Lucá, Geka’s CEO.

Dr. Christina Zech is a polymer chemist, and has been working the last nine years for Schwan-Stabilo Cosmetics heading an R&D team, as Director Mascara and Director Colour Lab Liquids for all types of liquid products including mascara.

Dr. Zech joined Geka on January 1st, 2010 from her most recent position in Switzerland at DSM Nutritional Products Europe Ltd. as head of technical marketing.

Christina Zech’s entry into the company sets a further milestone into Geka’s strategic orientation.

“Dr. Zech brings to the company a wealth of experience with products, markets and customers. Her background and professional experience as a polymer chemist and formulator will put Geka into the position to offer added value to the customers by providing a wider in-depth advice on cosmetic formulations. This step will positively influence the complete supply chain of our customers and simplify the decision making process of the brands, which results in a competitive advantage for the customers and strengthens Geka’s position as a mascara expert,” explains the company in a release.

Geka’s partnership with Ancorotti Cosmetics was one step into the world of cosmetic formulations, which will be from now on affirmed through Dr. Christina Zech. However, “Geka’s aim is not the production of cosmetic formulations but to gain more knowledge in order to offer well-thought and creative products”.
