As I was rushing to get ready this morning I couldn’t help but wonder if I’m the only one who skimps on skin care and makeup in order to make it to work on time. Of course, in a perfect world, I would give myself at least an hour to complete my look, but in reality those mornings only exist once a week (at best).
So, instead of feeling guilty for hitting the snooze button, I decided to give you a few tips on how to speed up your morning routine and still put your best face forward.
1. Tinted Moisturizer
Talk about a multipurpose product. Most tinted moisturizers now have antioxidants and sunscreen mixed into their formulas, ensuring you’ll not only get instant moisture and lightweight coverage, but also younger-looking skin. One of my favorites, and a DermStore Shopper’s Choice, is Dermalogica Sheer Moisture SPF 15.
2. Brightening Powder
No need to apply finishing powder and blush. Use a brightening powder for both. These powders have a hint of color for creating a radiant complexion, eliminate shine for hours and are perfect for afternoon tough-ups. Most cosmetic brands have brightening powders. I prefer to use nourishing mineral makeup formula.

3. Mascara
If you don’t have time for shadows and liners, a few swipes of mascara is the best way to wake up tired eyes. In less than a minute, you can transform your eyes from drab to fab—and no one will be the wiser. Choose a clump-free formula that lengthens, thickens and curls for the greatest impact.

4. Lip Gloss
OK, let me jump on my soapbox for a minute. No one should let their lips go naked. And I’m not just talking about the need for color. The delicate skin on the lips needs constant moisture and protection. And the easiest way to get both protection and color is with a gloss. If you want to really glam it up, choose a gloss with a plumper.
